Want to know about Leslie (yeah, that's me)?  Read on....

What do I do with myself?  Well, you'll find out below.  Mostly I sit around, because I've been sick ever since I was diagnosed with cancer in 2001.  The cancer is gone, but I'm still feeling like crap.  See that picture --->?  People usually don't think I could possibly be sick when they see this here or in person.  I assure you, it takes alot of work for me to look "normal."  After being stared at when I lost my hair, I never wanted to be ridiculed again.  So, you shall never see me looking like crap!  We (my boyfriend Joe and I) have monthly parties to get people together.  We have parties like Warwick Weekend (named for Warwick Davis- the leprechaun), which we have every St. Patty's weekend.  We watch the Leprechaun movies, play cards, drink, stuff like that.  One misconception I think some people have about our parties is that you have to drink.  No, you do not have to drink- ever, that is, if you're a big wuss!!!  Hahahaha!  Just kidding.  I don't drink at all of our parties.  On to what I've been doing!

January-  New Year's Eve was a blast!  Stoner puked on the side walk, Whitley puked in a bucket, Jimmy puked in a toilet...  I didn't puke at all.  I got roses for our 4th anniversary.  I can't even remember what else happened that month.  Oh well.
February-  For Valentine's Day, I got a rose, and lots of candy.  Joey and I went to see The Butterfly Effect and had dinner at the Pine Burr.  The governor was visiting the Burr, so most people there walked around like their sh!t doesn't stink.  I also dyed my hair that month.  Dark brown....and I like it alot better!  Towards the end of the month tragedy struck when Jim's brother Rob was found dead.  He was only 31 and all of us have our own special memories of him.
March-  This month I went down to Kentucky with Maria.  I had an awesome time simply being away from everything.  I even made some new friends- Tim, Timmy, and Jess, Maria's neighbors.  I also met James, Maria's fiance.  We went to this bar called Kicker's and had a great time.  I saw Dawn of the Dead the day I got back and that kicked ass.  We also had our Warwick Weekend party and there was fun, food and a fight.  What more could you want at a party?
April-  I had my bankruptcy hearing this month.  It went very quickly and I'll be glad when it is all finalized.  On the 2nd, we went to an 80s party at the Front Street Station hosted by 94KX.  We all had a kick ass time dressed as tacky as we used to.  Joey won first prize for his 80s nerd outfit.  It was a great night hearing the music we loved growing up to.  I made a really good ham on Easter, and my awesome banana cream pie.  I got to see Maria when she and James came up on Easter weekend.  They took Daizy back to Kentucky with them and everyone will miss her.  This month Maria and James will be getting married.

What's on my mind-  Well, I've been just trying to be positive and not harp on the negative.  I want to live life as fully as possible while I have it.  I don't think I'm so sure I'm dying anymore- just that I'm not healthy.  The weather warming up definitely helps me to breathe easier.  I still get the feeling that I'm constantly being watched and judged.  When you're in my kind of situation, you try to do as much as possible- push yourself.  I want very badly to have a normal life again.  However, I am paranoid that people are thinking to themselves that I look fine and act fine (which I do my best to do).  I feel constantly that I have to look and act dreary so as not to seem suspicious.  It's a very hampering attitude.

Neighbor Diary

I've decided to turn this box into a feature about our jerk neighbors, the Rhino (top), the guy (middle), the kid (bottom).

1-01-04  The Rhino called the cops on Stoner for yelling, "Happy New Year!" outside.  Maybe they don't celebrate holidays at the muddy banks of the African rivers.

1-29-04  The Rhino was yelling at her husband because she had to clean up his toothpaste in the sink.  I think she's allergic to toothpaste.

2-14-04  The guy brought the rhino some chocolates which she promptly ate before he stepped in the door.  No wonder her teeth are always shit brown......or is that her allergy to toothpaste?

2-18-04  The Rhino yelled at the guy for turning the kid into a "f*ck&ng couch potato."  I guess she likes baked ones better.

3-17-04  The Kid tried to touch our Warwick Weekend sign, but the Rhino promptly snatched her hand away.  I guess it was all of the sparkles.  She's used to dusty, dirty things.

4-07-04  The Rhino stole my Frederick's of Hollywood catalogue from the mailbox.  No more needs to be said about that one.....

Favorite Songs!

There are a lot of great songs in this world, and not all of them necessarily by my favorite bands.  For instance, Guns 'N Roses are one of my favorites.  I can listen to their CDs all the way through.  All of the songs are really good, but none of them grab me as one I want to play over and over and over.  I guess that is how I am picking my favorites.  I want to play them repeatedly!!!!  These are not in any order!  I have more that I will add each month.

The Electric Hellfire Club- Groovy Boots  If you like fun and campy, this is a song for you.  If you like strictly pop(ular), this is not for you.
Stone Temple Pilots- Sour Girl, Pretty Penny  The first song is off their album "5".  Pretty Penny is from Purple.  I think STP are a good, solid group who write consistently good music, no matter what their popularity at the moment.
Radiohead- Paranoid Android  I like a lot of Radiohead songs, but there is something about this one that I really love.  The video is awesome too.
Madonna- Oh, Father  This is definitely my favorite Madonna song.  It's very real.
Weezer- Hash Pipe  I love Weezer and their simplicity.  It's Rivers Cuomo that seals the deal for me on this one.
Mother Love Bone- Chloe Dancer/Crown of Thorns  This was Pearl Jam before Eddie Vedder.  The original singer committed suicide.  I love the honesty of this song.  I also think the music is beautiful.  It's on the Singles soundtrack.
Pearl Jam- Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town, Nothingman  Last month I did a short on EWBCST and how it affected my life.  I was becoming a person who sat on the sidelines and never took life by the reigns.  Nothingman is a really sad song that I think is really poignant.
Prince- When Doves Cry  I was fortunate to get Prince's B sides CD, which has most of his really good songs.  Prince is a genius and this is the one song I could never get sick of.
Slipknot- Wait and Bleed  If ever you need some angry f'ing music, get Slipknot's debut CD.  This song was the one I loved and persuaded me to buy the CD.  I love how they sing on this one and not just scream.
Alice Cooper- You and Me  This is a beautiful, simple song that I love.  It's a song that I can so easily relate to.  There's nothing grand, no solos, it's just a great piece of work.
Insane Clown Posse- Rainbows and Stuff  I love this song because it made me smile when nothing else could.  I love all of their music, but this one will always have a special meaning to me.
Nirvana- Something in the Way, Where Did You Sleep Last Night  I  liked Something in the Way since the floating baby album, but when it was on Unplugged, I gained more appreciation of it.  In fact, I love the entire Unplugged album.  Well, excpet for All Apologies.  I've never liked that one.  My favorite, though, is Where Did You Sleep Last Night.  The emotion and voice are so raw, it pulls me in all the way.
John Lennon- Happy Xmas (War is Over)  I remember first hearing this song at my gram's on Christmas Eve.  The radio station played the same songs over and over.  It wasn't until high school that I found my favorite Christmas song was by John Lennon.  I hate that they play the covers of this song, instead of the original now.

3. Celine Dion
4. Al Visintainer
5. People who smoke at hospital entrances.
6. Line Dancing
7. The band "Train"
8. Friends who don't want friends to have their paychecks.
